Garth Brooks is coming out of retirement!!!! YEAH. I unfortunately missed his HUGE concert in Ireland back in 97. I had tickets in my hand...right up front too. I had reservations for the flight and everything. Then the military got involved and we had to go to the field for 2 weeks. So instead of having the time of my life I was 50 miles from nowhere, unable to take showers, eating horrible "field food" (MRE's and T rats), and being just kindof miserable. I think I stayed in a bad mood that whole field problem. I was Field Artillery then, I should have expected to go to the field every time I wanted to do something...lol Anyway Garth Brooks is coming out of retirement and will be performing in Las Vegas every weekend. Now I need to find a way to go to Vegas. I don't see it happening for a while though.

I remember in the mid to late 90's 2 concert specials being on tv.
One on NBC the other I think was an HBO special in central park.
Both amazing life performances, Garth in my opinion is the reason that country music became mainstream, blending rock and country with incredible live shows.
I've always been down with garth, doubt I'll ever make to vegas to see him, but I bet his new shows will be awesome.

Funny. I was watching the news and it had a blurb running across the bottom that right before a commercial that said " Garth Brooks was coming out..." then it went straight to the commercial and you know what I thought.

Its very easy, of course, to take the piss out of other peoples tastes in music. It's such a subjective thing.

I find nothing on the website that says he will be doing shows in Las Vegas.

The last news report there is from May2008
