NASA Moon "Bombings" Tomorrow: Sky Show, Water Expected
With its "bombing" of the moon early tomorrow, NASA's LCROSS mission may beat a telltale signature of water out of a shadowy crater—and all you may need to see it is a good backyard telescope (or maybe a camera set up for astrophotography).

I expect there will be some Greenpeace activists handcuffed to the crater to delay the bombing?

NASA says you'll probably need a 10" diameter or larger telescope ... you can also watch it on NASA TV:

So I know my attempt at humor was probably not very funny, but why was it removed? |

I'm not the one who hid it, but it was done because there's no need to veer yet another innocuous topic into a political rant. Your post contributed virtually nothing to the topic and was intended to stir up unnecessary debate.

What would be the cause for their opposition? Wait, let me guess...the bomb could alter the orbit of the moon, causing enormous high-tides on earth, flooding mankind and only birds will survive. :D

I didn't remove it myself, but probably because it was completely off-topic and in violation of the rule against "threadjacking"? In addition to not being "humor" but just a politically-charged cheap-shot. |

It was meant as humor, not inteneded as a cheap shot or trying to start a debate. I have no problems starting a new thread in rant if that is my intention. Furthermore, I'd have said the same comment if the other guy won, or if we did this a couple years ago. Lighten up whoever removed it. |

Actually, we're a bit late. Remember a show titled, "Space 1999"? ...nuclear waste from Earth stored on the moon explodes in a catastrophic accident on 13 September 1999, knocking the moon out of its orbit and sending it and the 311 inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha hurtling uncontrollably into outer space.
I'm expecting the moon to either collide with the earth, or go flying off into space. Make your peace, hug your loved ones, stock up on whiskey, this is going to be wild!

Nostalgia much?
That's so weird, cause I was googling Space 1999 just this morning to find out what happened in the last episode.
