16" softbox with a 4" hole?
Right now I have my Gary Fong light sphere shoved into the hole of the softbox and then placed it on the flash but it isn't secure and it doesn't work the way I want it too. How can I get the flash to stay in place with the softbox? |

They make specific softboxes to hook them to. A normal softbox uses a speedring to attach too, which won't work on a speedlight. I'd suggest that if you have an umbrella adapter for your speedlight already that you pick up a brolly box from AB which works very similar to a softbox, but without as much control. I did have a set of 15inch softboxes with brackets but sold them a bit back as I felt the light source was a bit small. If I get some time today I'll look them up and send you a link.

There is an article over at strobist for fixing speed lights with bungees: Strobist idea
I have the following setup : speedlight softbox : which is essentially a bit of bent metal with a flash shoe seat and works pretty well. |
