Pretty darn cool though and definitely worth the price (in my opinion)

Cool indeed!

When I shot a shuttle launch in 2000, we went on a press tour near the launch site. There were a bunch of cameras set up pretty close to the launch pad, and they were set to start shooting when triggered by sound. A lot of the cameras were set up inside mailboxes in an attempt to protect them!

Holy mackerel! Just as an aside, I wonder how they manage to keep grass growing there? Or I guess the launches are so far apart that...?

My take from the blog was the camera lens was destroyed from being blown over. Perhaps the grass is low profile enough not to really be bothered by it. Just speculation.

Well, there's a LOT of heat in that blowback, I assume? But then, Florida's a hot place eh?
