I am currently earning a living as a photographer. I do a lot of local events, senior portraits, and lots of sports. I am happiest when my camera is in my hand and I still love it when someone asks me what I do and I say "I am a professional photographer" I pray that I always have the passion for my art. |

I would love to photography a profession but at this time I am a full-time mom and wife! Which takes up alot of time! Maybe later on, for now just for fun when I can and DCP of course!

I'm going to study graphic design, but photography is for me a creative exercise and a very vital element in the whole creative mindset I'm trying to nurture. I think that just about anyone, creative professional or not, will benefit from photography.
I'll keep shooting and improving, and although it's not something I'm aiming for right now, I might go professional somewhere down the line. Who knows?

Well, I kinda selected photography. Once I got done with my graduate studies and became a "real person" I needed something beautiful to quell the cynicism the "real world" beat into me. I was always very art-y, and I always liked the idea of photography, and with the advent of digital, it was a good direction to go. A little to my disappointment, I discovered I'm not really all that great a photographer, which will probably preclude my ever getting paid for my work. But I've found that I like photography a lot... it's satisfying to me, and so it'll probably stay a hobby. I'd be ecstatic, however, if the hobby would pay for itself. It hurts to have to sink the kind of resources I need into it.
Just a couple more lenses and a grip.. then I swear I'll be happy... :)

As of yesterday I'm a full-time professional freelance photographer. Yikes! Scary! It's been going really well for me on a part time basis for the last couple of years so I decided to give the rest of this year a shot at seeing how it would go full-time. Having a horrible desk job that I hated and working for a nightmare of a boss helped push me over the edge into self-employment. :)
I shoot stock and do some fine art sales, and just ordered Nikon's new 8 megapixel camera coming out next month. Whoo-hooo! Luckily I have the world's most supportive husband helping me through all of this. It's scary, but very exciting.

To me photography represents different things.
I am certainly not a professional photographer, nor I plan to become one (even if things actually happen more frequently when unplanned =).
I frequently use my photography to produce assets for my profession (which includes designing and implementing websites and internet applications).
Photography also gives me, in conjunction with digital instruments, the immense opportunity to have fun creatively.
Yes, as ridicolous as it may sound, I do "plan" to become a photo-artist, having very clear in mind what is (and dreaming to have the talent to be one). |
