Can someone help me, I don't use iframes that much but I need to use one for my case today.
Here is the code I wrote:
I can get the image to show up but after the client puts it on their website I want it to be clickable and point to my site. Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?

Now I could do this but it starts to load the page in the current window like it should but then redirects to the new page. However it causes an error with the history because when you click back it just reloads the page.

Actually after thinking about it if I keep the iframe as html that will allow me to change the image name within the window and the host will also the most current image.
However I still have the history problem. |

i've run into the history issue before. click back twice quick, and you'll actually go back. not a solution, just something i've noticed.
why do you need to use an iframe ? not the best tag IMO

That is exactly the problem I'm having. I need the iframe because it's a hassle to email all the websites that advertise for me and have them change the images. This way I can just send them the iframe and changing images on over 10 sites would be a simple upload on my end. |

just let them insert a static url. and then overwrite the image/php or html file on your end... ?
ie: insert this link please
keep the ad.gif dimensions the same. rename the current ad file to ad.gif.bak1 ( or something maybe with a date as a secondary extension) do the same with the php/html file, then upload the new ad.gif and ad.php/html file.

the problem I could run into there might be cache problems.
although it is another road to take and still an option. |

what about a server side include ?
just a thought.
i used to use them to load the menus ( left and bottom ), and the header and footer on a site. back with straight html. that way coding the content was much simpler. i've not tried loading a url from another domain though. and cache might still be an issue. a cookie could get around that though i think.
i also dont see how the iframe is going to avoid the cache issues. unless you're going to make them replace the iframe code with each update. if that's the case - it's no different than having them recode the image name.
