Anyone use a waist bag that is decent and worth the money. My wife is looking for a new camera bag because all my old stuff is getting handed down and her gear is starting to become rather large. She doesn't want a backpack style or a shoulder bag but one she can access all her lenses and still be fast at the same time.

I know there are a bunch out there but which ones are good or which one do you have and are you happy with it?

I once received a Mountainsmith lumbar camera pack by mistake when I ordered a non-camera mountainsmith lumbar pack--so I exchanged it, but took a look at it first: seemed well made and something I will keep in mind for when I decide to get one.

I thought about investing in the modular belt system, but It looks a bit dorky :P

I bought a tamrac velocity6x...at the advice from DPC ( I think scalvert)....I love it.

I know you said waist pack and she didn't want a backpack....although you carry it as a backback, it swings around to the front for very fast convenient access. although the picture of a 6x looks very small, I carry my D90 with 18-200 attached..and have enough room for my SB800 or another smaller lens..

I probably could use a bit bigger, but for 'walk around' I don't need much more than that....I have a Crumpler 7million dollar home for the rest of my gear.

I use a Think Tank Modular Belt system for carrying things while on the sideline shooting sports. I'm not so vein to worry about how things looks over how things function while I'm doing my job. And they work and function as designed and make my life easier.

What about a photogs vest? I use them alot of the time as I can carry my camera with 18-200mm lens attached on my shoulder and a couple of lenses in the long chest pockets, still leaving numerous other pockets for accessories etc.

yeah Think Tank is the one I was thinking about I just couldn't remember the name of it. I will look at all these bags thanks guys. BTW she carries around a D90 with an 18-105mm, 55-200mm and a 18-55I have 3 SB-800's that I carry in my bag but more than likely I will be handing one over to her in case she needs it. I have 4 weddings in a row starting on the 10th. so I'm going to be swamped for the next month.

Thanks again everyone.
