I will now spend the next 5 years trying to match this quality or die trying!

I mean you do a pretty damn good job now, I'm only dipping my feet into the water here and your already neck deep so be proud of the ability and talent you already have because I think I speak for a lot of people here but your work is very good quality. |

Yeah, I've been using it for a couple of years, but my videos are boring compared to this guy's talent.
And DD, thanks so much. I certainly don't mean to fuss, I am proud of my work - I just realize how much farther I need to go before I'm truly satisfied with my abilities. I guess that's what its all about, though. If we have nothing to reach for, we stop reaching. :)

Ok, I watched the video. Are you talking about the video itself? Because honestly, it made me nauseous. Not the photographs he used in the video, the video itself. It never stopped moving. As soon as you focused on something - if you could focus on something - it moved or some effect faded it or shifted it. Especially the effects used on the text. First it was a stylized script, but then he had to have it moving in or out - could barely read it half the time. Just seems to me not everything needs to have an effect applied to it for 100% of a video.

Yup, I'm with CEJ on this one. Way too hard to watch -- too fast, and too much like a typical slideshow demo reel "Ohhhh, look what I can do! Ta-da!"
More my speed --
Jon Canfield - General photo reel (not sure of product, probably ProShow Gold) - Still a little heavy on the unnecessary effects, but not as annoying as many others.
Artage Pictures - Wedding reel, incorporating video (ProShow Producer) - Best slideshow I think I've personally ever seen - Top of the Photodex Photographers Demo Videos for quite some time, for good reason.
[ edited to fix linkee - whoops! ]

This is more my speed, too. I can't stand having things flying around so fast between multiple layers. It takes a lot of knowledge of the software, but you can't really enjoy the photography. |

not only that the water drop idea is neither original nor is too creative. in fact it might have been done quite a few times. |
