One of them was using Nikon D70.. Can't remember which one was using it though... |
From google cache:

I don't know if someone already sent this...but it's kind of pathetic...If there were two guys, he really needs therapy.

If you do a forum search for kenskid + rugman you'll find several conversations in which they are talking back and forth. At one point there is only a 20 second time difference. I think they are 2 people as well. Just sayin'.... |

Jeb, I have a lot of respect for you, and I know you are a good guy that just calls them as you see them. So do I.
Personally it does not matter to me whether there really was a ghost account or not, or whether they/he was banned or not.
I DO feel badly for Irene who had her name dragged into this through no fault of her own. She is a great photographer and a wonderful person from everything I have ever seen/heard of her.
However... as for your bit about SC always being questioned I have two points to make. The first is that it is good to question, as long as it is done politely. It keeps everyone on their toes.
The second is that a couple of the members of the SC bring it upon themselves by making remarks which are combative and not condusive to maintaining good relations with the members of DPC. As a paid member of DPC, you have the right to voice your opinion, be it right or wrong. However as a member of SC, they are now speaking on behalf of the body which helps govern the site and should act accordingly. When a member of the SC is baiting a member in an argument it does not look good for the site, and especially not for the valued members of the SC that work hard and then get collectively slammed because of the actions of one or two that are not acting very professionally. I have suggested previously that the members of SC have a non-entering, non-challenge-voting account with the fancy coloured avatar they can use while speaking on behalf of the SC, and then a regular account to use when they are entering challenges, voting on challenges, and generally kabitzing in the forums as a regular joe. Then they would likely get less flak and have more latitude to actually have fun on this site because there would be a separation between being an SC member and being a regular member.
Remember that not only does the site need to be fair to all, it needs to have the appearance of being fair to all! |

Well, this is where we agree......and one big point of mine is that it shouldn't concern anyone outside of those directly affected.
Originally posted by basssman7: I DO feel badly for Irene who had her name dragged into this through no fault of her own. She is a great photographer and a wonderful person from everything I have ever seen/heard of her. |
She is.....I've had various exchanges with her and found her to be gracious and delightful. To have her called into question on any level is deplorable.
The idea that the entry used as the whipping post for this little escapade was in any way even a close call was ludicrous in my opinion.
However, I don't feel that my opinion is remotely relevant in the validation process of this or any entry. I'm not sure why so many people think theirs is.
And there lies the rub.....my opinion doesn't matter.....it's not up to me to make the call on any level, and I stipulated that when I checked the box that says I agree to the TOS.
Originally posted by basssman7: However... as for your bit about SC always being questioned I have two points to make. The first is that it is good to question, as long as it is done politely. It keeps everyone on their toes. |
Okay......why is it good to question? In the case of it being your entry up for review, I feel that polite discussion could be entered into to ensure everyone DIRECTLY INVOLVED is on the same page. But how is some guy, who out of nowhere decides he wants to engage in a pissing match, justified on any level......ESPECIALLY when he starts down the path of calling everyone actually involved into question on numerous levels, some personal?
Here's the thing......there are too many Americans on this site with an entitlement complex. Where does it say that you have the right to openly insult people and imply favoritism?
Where does it say that just because you're having a bad day and you decide to make a hobby out of busting all over an SC decision that it's okay?
Where does it say that it's okay to make really deplorable comments when the decision doesn't go the way *you* THINK it should??????
See, I don't get that. I believe that there's a system of checks and balances in place, in place for a reason, and I can either abide by it, as I agreed to, or feel free to spend my time elsewhere.
The forums are a nicety, and a privilege.......how about if SC and/or Langdon got the sh*ts of the constant abuse and shut down the forums entirely?
And it just became......DP Challenge.
Enter and win.....or not, and move on to the next challenge.
This isn't a democracy.....this is a privately owned site that is here at the owner's behest. Where is it written that it's okay to trash him because you form a negative opinion on what's being/been done?
I guess I just have a different idea of where my freedom lies as it pertains to openly questioning a system where I agreed to abide by how it's run when I registered and agreed to the TOS.
To me, it's abundantly clear that I have certain privileges and certain things that I am not permmitted to do.
I don't feel that trashing the administration, or calling their operation contstantly into question is amongst those privileges.

Ya', I know it's possible to do, just a little hard to believe someone would actually do it. I don't know Kenny or of his shenanigans, nor do I have a degree in psychology, but in my Sunday night boredom I read through some old threads and I don't think they are the same. There is one in particular from a couple of years ago where they are pretty much the only two participating in the thread. If they are the same then he has some real problems. But I don't think they are. |

I agree with this, Even the best and worst cops in this world take off their badge at the end of the day. SC should also be allowed a civilian life.

Sorry, Jeb, I lost focus reading another of your lengthy diatribes.
Just a couple other quick responses:
basssman7 - I would agree that certain members of the SC bring foment these things.
JH - best post in thread awar--- crap! Here comes Kanye. *runs*

That was an unnecessary and mean post, Art. If you choose to think SC announcements are boring, fine, but don't slag on the thoughts of your fellow DPC users. |
