Regardless, buddy voting is a serious offense around these parts.


I agree although I'm sure their votes for each other, which I guess site council looked at, didn't affect the outcome. It was 1 vote for each other and they never ribboned anyway.

I tend to believe that the SC and the admins of this site use more then just "same ISP" address' to discover ghost accounts.. There must have been additional proof.. Maybe they are two different guys that decided to share eachother's passwords & screen names and use that to their advantage...

I knew this would come up and I welcome a search. I may have made a few posts from work which would show the same ISP but most of them were from my home or the library (because of my recent move to a new home without Internet). Please do a thourough search SC. I actually have a image in voting now that could be my PB and have enjoyed this site. I'll stop posting in here and talk one on one with SC through PM if that would be the best medicine.

don't get me wrong I'm just posting in here to state what I know is true. If in fact that kind of thing was going between the 2 I won't deny SC's decision. They do have tools that would show something like that and I do not. One thing is for sure though, Monday's gonna be fun when I get back to work.

Well they WERE showing each other BLATANT FAVORITISM, so that should have been our first clue, eh?

Seems like the people who are most suspicious of others are often so inclined because of their own shady behaviour. Condemning the site for conspiracy and favoritism when they were doing it themselves.

oh, please, you call that enforcement? I have at least 50 ghost accounts that I use to give myself 1s during voting. I'm trying to maintain my underground cred. And SC hasn't found any of them. Hint: start with Lallisig and eyewave

So first you say it is a big office....you are the only 3 in the office that go on this site. How do you know that? So you don't really know what they get up to on here? But you say it will be fun when you get to work on Monday....hmmm...you do have more interaction with them then you are letting on!

So how do YOU know they vote 1's on each other...do you stand over their shoulder when they vote...isn't that called ghosting or altering the outcome of the results?

I thought each computer had their own address....even ones in the same office? Mind you...I am not a computer techie...I have a techie of my own to handle that side of things!!!!

I believe SEG was being sarcastic about going to work on Monday.

Whatever the causes, be it Ghost accounts or Buddy voting, everyone knows that it is a big no no.

So lets not go about bashing anyone till we know most of the facts hahahahehehehehe ='O

he did not say they voted 1 on each other, he said they only had 1 vote and thus hardly any effect on outcome. Plus they never ribboned. It was not like with rikki.

well Im pretty happy bout this, this is hilarious and IMO got what he/she/they/... deserved

its not so much the IP address that can bite you in the arse but the MAC address as well lol.

On the other hand, should we assume that kenrug would stop at only one ghost account? Why not 2, 3, ... to infinity and beyond!! The mind wobbles.......

It's a CONSPIRACY, I tell you!! The only one I can be sure is not kenrug is ME. heck, Scalvert and the rest of the SC could all be kenrug accounts, and they occasionally ban a couple to make it look convincing. It's Blatant Favoritism, it is.

Or not. :-)

Judi,

it is a decent size office for a major corporation. I didn't claim to have no interaction with them. I even stated that I bought my camera from one of them and he introduced me to the website. I only assume noone else is on this site because noone else has ever mentioned an interest in photography. I shouldn't assume though....I know. As far as Monday being fun, yes it will. Because I will definetly go to their offices and joke with them about being booted. I find it funny.

As far the 1 vote I wasn't saying they were giving each other ones. What I was saying is that one vote probably didn't skew the results one way or the other. Not saying that it is right to do it but just stating that I probably didn't matter in the end unless they had several accounts each.

As for the ISP stuff that was just an assumption I made according to what I read in the first post. But it seems I am wrong about that because it seems to be a voting issue or a shared username issue.

i have my wife's account too on this site. But she is warned she could only log into dpc over my dead body. I ain't gonna banned.
