I've had a number of cameras that use AA batteries, that have had the battery door clips break. The best solution I've come up with sofar is this ugly velcro band.

Currently we have a Coolpix L6 and a Fuji 5700 that have semi busted battery compartments like this. Anyone have a better fix?

A small piece of good grade electrical tape will work for that too, and not be as obvious. The velcro is a very functional solution to that problem.
My Niece broke the clip on her P&S while we were on vacation in Montana, and we got by just fine using a rubber band around that end of the camera. She liked that it also gave her better grip on the camera.

Yeah, stop giving your cameras to the gorilla. ;-)
