I've been using a digital voice recorder to record lectures because I write a bit slower than my prof talks. It generates .wma files, which I then download onto my laptop to review. What I'd like to do, assuming it's possible, is to run those files through a program that will convert the words spoken in the .wma file and produce text.

Any ideas?

You're pretty much out of luck. MacSpeech Dictate and IBM ViaVoice were the only choices, and they've both been languishing. You might have an easier time with something like this (and it's free).

If you find it, let me know -- my mom is dictating some very interesting stories ... the software we're using to capture the audio is saving as QuickTime files, so maybe I can port them to a PC program.
