I'm usually good at titles (better than photos), but I just realized when I saw this thread that I should have used a different one ...

I am not good at titles. I was waiting so long for somebody to create this thread. Want to post the score before it reaches mediocrity.

only 56 entries in this challenge as compared to the 230+ of the Lines III challenge. Still I gave a few 10's and some 9's good luck to everyone.

i saw how little entries there were and decided 15 minutes before the deadline to take a last minute shot. after looking and voting on all the entries, i gotta say, some of you guys have waaaaay to much time on your hands :)

i'm not really suprised at how it's doing so far considering the rush job to shoot and then throwing in some ghetto processing.

I think there are a lot of people who didn't read the challenge description. I assumed that using only fruits and veggies meant that you shouldn't have non=fruits and veggies in the shot. Did I misinterpret it somehow?

I think your interpretation is a bit on the narrow side, but everyone is entitled to their own interpretation. With that interpretation, any and all backgrounds except those that completely contain veggies and fruits would be DNMC.

Hard to say what people think...my shot has ONLY veggies in it, nothing else, and I had a comment that they didn't see any veggies in it? WHAT??? Gonna be a long week..

Vegetables are like gemstones: some people only know diamonds, sapphires, emeralds and rubies. Once you stray from carrots and lettuce, they're completely clueless.

LOL, yes, I can see your point! But you would think that people would pause for a moment and think "Veggie Tales",hmmmm... I should assume that there are veggies here...!!

And remember that the challenge description states both fruits and vegetables can be used.

The challenge description also said create a scene. Not sure I consider a straight-on shot of fruit or veggies a scene, but that's just me.

Absolutely, 100% agree. I'm not seeing many "scenes" or stories presented.

I noticed the word "scene", as well. I think many people didn't think about how that changed the definition of the challenge. I'm definitely enjoying the scenes that some created, however.

I only noticed the word Scene today. DOHHHHHHHHHHH. Oh well pic does tell somewhat of a story. But i would have definetly changed things up a bit.

Curious. How would you define the word "Tales" in the Challenge: "Veggie Tales"?

Isn't pretty much anything you view through the camera a scene?

The trick is in getting that scene to tell a tale. :-) Make it a tall one while you're at it. :-P

By one definition of the word scene, yes, everything is a scene. Another definition is telling a story. That's the problem with some of the challenge descriptions: when dictionaries have multiple meanings, it leaves things open ended and people end up judging on their definition. I like it when the challenge definitions are more precise.
