Two nights ago I went out to photograph aurora and you can see some of the pictures I took in my portfolio

No these are from Ãnundarfjörður. There is one photo from Ãsafjörður thou. |

Canon EOS 10D
Shutter speed: 30sec at F4.5
Post-processing was done by "auto contrast" with PhotoShop |

Amazing! having never really seen them live, do they move quickly, or are they somewhat stationary like clouds?

All of you just have to visit Iceland next winter. I think the time between november and until february is the best time to see it.
Aurora moves very quickly and can be gone in a second. Like when I was out shooting this I went out around 11 pm and waited for 1 hour (just shooting the moon and some things like that) but when I was driving back home then suddenly the sky went green. I stoped the car got out and started shooting. It was realy frezzing outside but that was ok because I had this beautiful aurora abowe me. These photos just showes a little part of what was happening.
The where playing abowe me for I think 10 to 15 minutes and then they where gone. |
