Phew! I have been meaning to get the Canon 300D for quite some time now, and I finally was able to buy one today! :)

It now sits under my desk at work, still in the box. I can´t wait until I get home!

The news of the Nikon D70 really did not change my mind at all. I like what I have seen and read about the 300D and I am not bothered by its "lack of features". I for one am not going to chase after every new dslr which hits the market.

This will be a big jump up from my Nikon Coolpix 4300, which I sold in order to get the funds for this one :)

Now I can finally start to take photographs again... weee! :)

Funny, I have no problems with the focus of the camera, and have learned to live with the slight underexposure. I'd rather it underexpose than overexpose. You can never get the detail back if you overexp.

what about when using the 7 point focus, I love that feature, but sometimes it just wants to keep focusing and focusing without letting me snap the pic when it's right where i want it.....what am I doing wrong?

Lori - take a look at these threads, could be helpful to you
I prefer to use the centre focus rather than the multi-point, its all a matter of personal preference and you need to play around with this baby.

Personally, I leave it on center focusing. I might move it to one of the other points, if I REALLY need it. I have not used the seven point focus, as it does not always choose the proper point for my composition. I prefer to use center, focus lock, then recompose the shot.

Thanks all!

I have been reading myself blind for the past months on all aspects of photography so I look forward to trying it out.

Right now the battery is charging... argh.. can´t stand the wait! :)
