Got home tonight (props in hand) ready to shoot a great idea for lines only to find 3 of our charity sites have been hacked.
An above average scriptf*ucker left his mark (thanks) but then went on to fubar the sites before proudly displaying his/her work on their 'teams' site. OK, he/she found a security flaw on the site but as a no brained script jockey they proudly f*ucked up 3 sites where many of the members are dying of cancer rather than politely let us now there is an issue. Yeah, they used a half brained script they don't have the brains to write themselves to do the dirty but they could have f*cking looked at what they were destroying before pissing around.
Time, methinks to go incognito again and f*ck with them a little |

I saw Natalya's post on FB, Andy. SUCKS big time! I've been dealing with these a-holes off & on for several years and every time it happens, I spend at least an hour trying to think of a way to find them and to hurt them. I mean really really hurt them. Best defense besides basic security measures and find the holes when you can is to have a good and frequent backup and restore process.
Best of luck. |

yup, sadly the excellent backup process was cutting the database down so only restored 50% of the data (worked well before the tables grew). Dealing with just the config and index is fine but this guy f*ucked up bigtime and seemed to randomly delete tables. I have a new quest and will send you coordinates of the f*ckers village! |

I was gonna post something along these lines myself Andi, but, I'm swinging from f*cking angry to being upset over the whole thing and can only think about the people I am letting down and the hundreds of hours of work this person or persons have destroyed for 'fun'...
Earlier today I sent Andi an email saying how I had just got another medical professional to agree to be on our advisory team and how the site was finally getting the recognition it deserved from the medical community...just a few hours later these d*ckheads have come along and played a nasty game...
Maybe I'll be able to post a proper rant here tomorrow when the anger finally takes over from the feeling sorry for myself mood I am currently in! |

Let's get all the DPCers collective negative thoughts an ill-wishes directed toward those people. Maybe we can get them to spontaneously combust through group telepathy. |

Lets get this understood. Is water-boarding OK in this situation? |

I'll quickly jump in here, before the fireworks start, and just advise anyone with a joomla site to remove the "powered by joomla" link back in the footer. Just discovered that apparently that's the phrase these wankers are using to google potential victims. |

Sorry to hear that Andi. Some people just don't have a clue. |

No, some people are just f*cking MEAN!
According to everything I know about good & decent, I'm supposed to pray for people like this, but I'm not that big a person.
I think they're scum and should die a lonely & painful death. |

Yes, they should be captured, drawn, and quartered.
On another not. The term you're looking for is Script Kiddie. A Hacker is someone who uses hardware to make a change. A cracker is someone who changes software. A script kiddie is some smuck who uses pre-packaged scripts to find vulnerabilities in systems. |

I am at network world in dallas right now, listening to a talk on security. The speaker threw out a quote that i like:
"There is strength in numbers... Large prime numbers". |
