If I was to get a Nikon D700, which type lenses should I get? I've learned that DX are not appropriate and will crop some of the picture.
I'm not clued up on the different types so I'm gathering as much info as I can.
In the list here on DPC, most of the lenses appear to be DX.
Thanks.

No, I want to know about things like DX, FX, etc..., not macro
or wide angle etc., I already know in that respect what I want.
As I said, DX are not appropriate for the D700. What other ones are?
Thanks. |

From a Nikon point of view, anything that isn't DX really. DX is for the smaller sensor, anything that doesn't have the DX will work (anything from Nikon that is).
If you're looking at a third party lens then just make sure you read the tech specs to find out if it's full frame or APS-C I think they call the smaller sensors. |

All the older Nikon Glass is ideal for the D700 Apart from some of the older glass will not have auto focus. Like
said above, Just avoid the DX lenses unless you don't mind the crop factor.
