Janine, thanks for the comment; :-) While I agree with you (sorry that I can't be more specific until the challenge is over) I still don't think it merits a sub-5.

So I go to China and see the total eclipse at the Three Gorges right? It's perfect weather and I manage to get some pretty damned nice shots of the most beautiful circle of them all.
Shortly after the event and out of nowhere, my mind turns to this site. I briefly wonder how awesome it would be if the subject of the week in here just happened to be Circles.
And what happens?
They do it two weeks later.
There is no circle god.

3 positive comments, all mentioning intentional aspects of the image that I am pleased with. No critiques. I guess these three are in the minority, as I am stuck in "meh" territory.

One critique that is probably the reason for all the 5's, though I don't agree with it. However, the voters give me the score, so that makes it right. I can accept some DNMC votes easier than "it sucks".
