I'll start this post by saying that, yes, I do work for ARKive, but I want to stress that this post isn't a sales pitch, I'm just happy! Working for ARKive didn't give me any priority treatment when it comes to selecting photos (unfortunately, otherwise I'd have way more in there!) :P
Here's a pic of me and the team with Sir David Attenborough if anyone's interested!
ARKive is a non-profit website working to create an audio-visual record of life on earth through amazing photographs and videos. I've been working there a year now and we've just launched a Flickr group to try and encourage more people to donate their media to us. The aim is to catalogue all species, with priority given to threatened ones, incase they become extinct, and inspire people to potentially stop that from happening.
I submitted my photos to the Flickr group and my Puffin photo which I submitted to DPC a while ago ( ) got selected by the media team to be included on the site. You can see it here.
I'm really chuffed to be included amongst such great photography from some of the best wildlife photographers in the world. If anyone here has photographs they would be willing to donate, please visit the Flickr group!
Sorry if that sounded spammy, I'm just pleased and wanted to share! :)

That looks like a really cool idea.
Does it matter if the photos are from zoos? Or do they just want photos from the wild?
Also, do they have size requirements? |

Photos from the wild are best and most likely to get chosen, but captive animals are okay too as long as they are tagged as captive.
Size requirements, as large as you can really. No minimum size other than as big as they're displayed by default on the website.

Thanks :) I've spent so long just looking through some of the great photographs on there and reading about the animals!

We don't have that species at the moment, but it's Near Threatened on the IUCN RedList so it'll be on our list to add. If you add the photos to our Flickr group they'll be the first we get to when we start profiling the species! :)
