I'm about to enter the "Circle" Challenge and I just got Lightroom 2. During the editing process of the shot I plan to enter, I saturated one are using the "one color saturation" tool (I'm not sure about the real name). If you understand what I did (saturating one area/color of an image), could you let me know if that counts as using a selection of a shot even though I never actually made a selection?

If you saturated a single color and that adjustment was applied across the entire image, that is fine. But if the saturation was restricted to a physical area by you, then it is not legal.
For example, I desaturated everything but the reds and yellows in this challenge entry:
