So this week I dragged my husband in to my studio photography class to be the model while we practiced our lighting patterns and posing techniques. I'm not overly fond of the background but wasn't given a choice- other than that I think they came out pretty well for my first attempt. Anyone else care to comment?

Andi,
For your first time doing these type of shots, they are really good. I really like photos 2, 3(the B&W one) and especially the one where he's sticking his tongue out at you. That one's great! :) And what a great sport your husband is. :) If you don't mind me asking, where are you taking classes at? I'm also in the Atlanta area and was just curious.
Thanks for sharing your photos.
Jen

I think your husband is really cute. lol
The shots look good. Neat lights and lighting techniques. I noticed two or three seem a bit too rosy or too much magenta. The photos are very nice.Looks like a lot of fun, great class. I think you did fantastic if thats really your first attempt. Wow.

Thanks Jen- classes are at The Showcase School //www.theshowcaseschool.com. I am taking a portrait course and a studio course at the moment, having previously taken 101, 102, and digital 101 (which wasn't really worth it if you already know something about your camera). They are a bit slow to evolve to the digital way of doing things, but for the basics of photography they're exceptional.

Thanks Justine, personally I think he's pretty hot :D I had noticed that a couple of the pics seem redder than the others, and I have no idea why- they were all shot with the exact same light source. In post processing I slightly adjusted the shadows/highlights in PS CS on a few shots, I will have to check and see if those are the ones that now look red. If so that seems like a strange side effect for that adjustment to have!!

I like #'s 4, 10, and 12. I think 4 is my favorite. I just like the look. Nice job overall. It's fun to work with a cooperative subject!
