Who on the TSer's use the Nikon AF-S 105mm VR Micro lens?
How do you maintain focus? I have been playing with mine today(lens that is) and I found lack of DOF as I did with my Tamron 90mm Macro. I had the same lens with the Pentax and used A mode to select required DOF. But, the Nikon lens has(to quote Ken Rockwell) breathing focus, which means that as the lens focuses it change composition. And, being an unsteady oldie, it is hard to stay steady to maintain focus. But, by switching to continuous focus, the shots were all sharper. |

A few of my favorites from today. This was really tough to do. I didn't expect so many tears, though they were mostly happy tears. The next one they are planning is for children. I'm just not sure I can do it. What was nice was they got a guy with a studio to come in with a backdrop & softbox and whatnot to do after portraits. I only needed to do candids. It's a shame that he wasn't more flexible since I couldn't stay for the whole thing. He was unwilling to do any candids.

If those are any indication at all, you did GREAT, Kelli! Very warm, very real - excellent candids. They will love them!! |

Thanks Jeb, that's so sweet! All these wonderful ladies worked all day for free. There were tons of giveaways, everyone that came in got free services, flowers, a gift bag with all kinds of stuff in it and a wrapped present. There were so many donations. It really does make you feel good to have a small part in making someone's life better if only for a day. |

We can't all have customers wallpapering their offices with our photographs. Some of us have to settle for ribbons. :P At least it's a real ribbon the cat can play with.

Wonderful shots, Kelli! I don't know if I could have lasted 2 hours. It's so sad and yet incredible. How neat to actually have permission to photograph intimate moments. I love getting the emotional shots, but usually you're hiding behind a corner and hoping you don't get noticed! |
