so. what i am trying to do is have three primary colors interact in a PSD file.
as an example. take three circles, one red, one blue, and one yellow. they partially overlap each other.
what i would like to do is where the two or three circles overlap - have the color in that area be a blend of the two or three overlapping colors. red and yellow make orange for instance.
with the image in lab mode i am able to get two of the colors to mix via layer blending modes - but not the third.
here's an example.
i'll keep searching for a solution, and post here if i find one, but i think it might be an easy thing i am just missing.
anyone know how ?
thanks

If you bring two colors contiguous to each other but not overlapping, then make a selection from the middle that is 50% each color and throw that selection into full, 250-pixel gaussian blur, you'll get the mixture very nicely... Not sure if that helps you...

You will have crisp edges if the selection is not feathered.

i ended up doing it with layer masks, shape layers, , and guides.
basically laying the primary colors over the top of the secondary colors, and using the guides to make two overlapping rectangular selections, then invert the selection, and create another mask on the underlying layer with the inverted selction creating the mask.
not exactly what i was hoping - but i changed course anyway and didn't end up needing to do what i asked about originally.
i'd still be curious of other ways to accomplish that though.
