It would be nice to have a grayscale calibration strip like this one on the photo detail page (it could be rotated 90 degress if that would fit better) to help people insure that their monitors are bright or dark enough to view images the way the photographer intended. Not perfect for calibrating, but a step in the right direction.

Good idea. I know that my images are brighter on my laptop than they are on my desktop. Coincidently, I think thats why my current challenge photo isn't doing so well. |

Did you not happen to notice this image underneath every single photo during the voting? You can also see it by your submitted entry by clicking the "Preview Image" link on the submit page. Is this what you mean by the 'photo detail page' ?

D'oh! I apparently did not. :)
When I view the image with the vote block and the comment box, the calibration strip is below and off the screen (at 1024x768 screen rez).
Now that I know it is there, I'll use it, but it still might be nice to put it next to the image flipped 90 degrees so it is more visible.
