In terms of wide-angle, the Canon 10-22mm is excellent, but the Sigma 10-20mm has a sound reputation and comes in quite a bit cheaper. that said, your Tamron goes pretty wide, so you might be better putting your money into the telephoto. For ultra wide angle you don't need IS, but is such a bonus for telephotos. |

Okay, with that being suggested I would like to go for the telephoto lens. What would you suggest and why? Thanks a bunch

How much reach do yu need? I would suggest looking at any of Canon's four 70-200s and picking the one you need. They vary in price from ~$600 to ~$1600 depending on max aperture and IS. |

You say you nature photography is important to you - that is a pretty broad genre. I am a fairly keen wildlife photographer and would highly recommend that the minimum reach you go for is 300mm. I upgraded to the Canon 100-400mm a couple of years ago, and i cannot rate it highly enough. It is a lot of money - just over a £1000, not sure how much that equates to in dollars. Before that I had the Sigma 70-300 APO DG which was a great introductory telephoto lens, but doesn't have IS, and is quite 'slow'. |
