hi this is my first challenge and i got so far 4.5, is that good at all?
i also wanted to ask about some pictures that arent much "basic editing" for me, what do you think?

Obviously depends on the quality of the pic but in my limited experience I got a few sub 5's where there were obvious problems with the pictures either not meeting the challenge or lacking enough visual context. Other entries got between 5 and 5.5 and I'm fairly new to photography.
With this death entry I was epxecting 5-ish but last time I looked it was at 4 which is the lowest score I've ever had and frankly I wouldn't be suprised if people for some reason are scoring lower than normal in this particular challenge. |

This one is my fourth challenge... I, too, am scoring less than usual on this particular challenge, and this is one I actually worked hard on. :)
First 3, flat out 5.1 average (and I'm just an amateur photographer), so that seems to be the "average"... I also always place just right over the middle... Nice and median. :)
This one I'm at 41 votes, 4.48 avg... Worst ever so far...
No comments, so no help on why people don't like it. :( I like negative.. I learn more.. the positive stuff is uplifting, but I can't step outside of my comfort zone w/out direction.
I'm pretty new.. 5 is a good feeling.. I find myself giving myself mini challenges (Yay, 2 people gave my photo a 10 (even though I placed 111th..etc).. That alone can be pleasing. :)

I was wondering about that too, record low comments, like 0. Seems strange for 78 votes and 158 views. Comment line is dead. Had a good day from my start of 1, I'd be happy to end it now-

You know what I did? I voted in the Life and Death, not the Death... I posted in the wrong forum.
I smell like smoke. I grilled with the charcoal today and I think that the smoke has messed up my brain. |

Yeah, I posted my Death score in Life and Death like some kind of dumb ass, so don't feel bad. Looking at both challenges it'd be hard to tell them apart too. Are you entered in either? As in, do I have a chance? |

No, I didn't enter. And if I did I would pose no threat to anybody. I am a solid 5.5er on a good day. Your stuff would wack my stuff in a challenge any day. Lately I have been the DQ king.
I do have a free study that I like, but it will probably only bring 5.7. But I like it. And when the sun goes down that is all that really matters anyway right?

I hear you on the DQ, my main motivation to enter stuff is to get my DQ off my top ten, it's so embarrassing. I do everything I can to follow the letter of the law, and I get branded a troublemaker for my efforts.
I've got a free study in, it's either a 6.8923 or a 4.1264, could easily go either way, I'm not sure. |

I will comment on the death photos today.
I just voted them all. That was painful. I have never been so bored voting in a challenge before. It was deathly boring. Lets never do that challenge again. May God have mercy on us all.
