Not making excuses..... but, my NG entry 'Prostrate Ape' was a challenging shoot. Besides shooting through glass (no flash) I had to resort to using an ISO of 1600 because of the lack of light (Note: the FUJI S602 forces 1 meg (max) photo at ISO's of 800 & 1600).

Also, while I have you here would you mind giving me your opinion on this 'NG outtake'.

(P.S. Congrat's to the winners of the NG challenge, well deserved)

that is pretty amazing considering the conditions!
I like the outtake shot. It's very moody.

I like the outtake - classy abstract, good lines making an interesting pattern, effective colours.

You were right to go with the ape, though. That was one of my highest scoring shots at 7. I didn't know at the time about the iso and the 1mb file, but I docked a few points because of the lack of detail. So, given the conditions, very well shot.

Wow, great for 1600, low noise. My G2 really gets a lot of noise at ISO 400. I had a similar situation on my POV entry, and I had to use NeatImage and the noise reduction in Breezebrowser's RAW conversion to get rid of massive amounts of noise, leaving me with a soft image that didn't fare too well.

Ooh, and taken at the Como Zoo! I love that zoo and go frequently (live just down the road) but haven't been over the winter.

Ongoing construction does not leave much to see at Como at present. Were limited to the conservatory, urangutans, two siberian tigers, a seal, and a retarded polar bear (poor thing). Oh yeah, I almost forgot the penguins.
