I am trying to put an image on my profile page that links to an external web page, but I am having a hard time with the code. The help section is out of date.

I've copied the code from another linked image, but can't figure out part of it (../25000-29999/..) ?

Here is my attempt:

The image ID I would like to link: 808953
My profile ID: 81530
Link: //www.jonathaneger.com/DPCPointsRace2009.htm

I would like the image to show up, and not the thumb (as it is too small).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use the external url tags, then in between the tags, use the thumb tags instead of text, if the image is hosted at DPC; try like this (without the space after the first bracket):
[ url=webaddress][thumb]######[/thumb][/url]

Just replace the curly brackets with square brackets {=[ :)

yeah, when i tried what GeneralE suggested, i got the same result as Ecce Signum

but it does work if the image isn't hosted at dpc and using the img tag, not thumb. not sure if that helps you at all

Yes, I could host the image elsewhere. This used to be easy, but at some point, the coding changed.

Out of curiosity, how did you figure this part out (/80000-84999/)?

ETA: I get it ;)

Go to the image Properties for the full-sized image, then use that within the [img] tags (again without two spaces this time):

[ url=website][ img]//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/80000-84999/81530/800/Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_808953.jpg[/img][/url]

i think he probably right clicked the image and copied its location from the properties

eta: too slow again.. jeeeeez

Thanks General.

I've wasted half an hour trying to figure this out before I posted to the forum. lmao

ooh, much easier to double space than replacing the [ with a { and easier for peeps to edit back, see, we have all learnt something here :)

If you put the code betwen the
[ pre][ /pre]
tags it shouws up in a fixed-space font (e.g. Courier) so it's easier to read and copy accurately.
