From a presentation I did at my local camera club-
Making the big, beautiful people look even more beautiful-
Short light-turn face towards key light, small area of face is illuminated, looks thinner
High lighting ratio, in other words, keep fill light dialed down, more of subject in shadow
Avoid wa lens, med focal length good (55mm)
Shoot higher, looking up can stretch out the 'extra chin'
Watch head position, don't pull head back, push head out a tad can stretch out loose skin
Crop out bad stuff- example, if subject has a lot going on down below, just shoot upper
Twist the body- twist feet if standing, legs if sitting- this will pull extra skin tight
Slim the hands- just show edges, don't show palms, backs of hands
