I have never sold prints before. Up until now all my 'professional' photography has been delivered online or on CD. Last week I was working late in the afternoon near the city and when I was just about to finish up I noticed a grand old pub across the street bathed in just the right light. At that moment coloured lights came on giving the building a wonderful glow. I shot off about 50 images, went home and processed 'em using HDR.
Everyone I showed them to thought they were great and that I should approach the pub to see if they want them. So, on spec, I sent off an email with the best 6 lo-res watermarked images asking if they were interested. 15 minutes later I got a reply saying they would like 36cmx27cm prints (approx. 14"x10").
Well that really made my day, so what do you pros think I should charge? |

Free beer and eats for a year? ;)
Will they be displaying the photos in the pub? As in 'free advertising' for you since I assume your name will appear on the finished product?
How would they like the prints - just prints? matted? matted and framed? What is your cost? |

I wasn't intending offering them a whole lot of choices other than matte or glossy. I don't particularly want to get involved in the framing. The tone of their reply makes me think they just want to hang it/them on the wall of their offices or the public lounge, but I will make them aware that it cannot be reproduced for advertising, etc. |
