Hey all!
Looking for underwater housing for my D300, not doing any deep scuba, just pool use for some fashion/wedding shots. I was going to rent from SPL, but for the same price I could get this less sea worthy casing from Prime Scuba Prime Scuba to own. Since I'm just doing pool use, I don't need anything ridiculously hearty, but I don't want my gear to get wet. Anybody have experience using these 'bag' type models?
Thanks to all!
Godspeed,
_Nathanael |

Just make sure you test the housing first without the camera in it and also each time you take the camera underwater, keep the part of the housing that has the most empty space facing down until you are ready to shoot, this way if the housing floods, you can swim to the surface and hopefully have no damage to the camera.
As to the type of housing you are referring to, I am clueless. I have a F200EXR and the underwater housing for it and it works a treat.

I have a Ewa-Marine bag for my D300, so i can't provide you any help on the quality of the bag you are looking at. My Ewa works nicely but you are best using it with prime lenses only as you can't use the zoom inside the bag.
But whatever bag you decide on, I would recommend getting one the accomodates a flash on the shoe - it gets dark down there! |

Thanks for the replies, guys! I'm uber nervous taking the camera underwater even if I were in a sub. But this shoot is going to be so cool, I can't resist. :D
Anyone else have suggestions, stories, lessons to share? |
