This powerful and popular photo and image editor now available free of charge, for a limited time. Note that this is free full commercial software offered for a limited time by Corel, in association with Lexar.
Get it here....

Yup. Linky no worky.
Giving an older version as a freebie is a good way of marketing the new version, Which they have a special offer on for $39.99. |

I found a mention of it here, but when I click on it, I get an offer for Corel MediaOne instead, which is not the same thing as PaintShop Pro.
The one Kat found appears to work. It seems to also be a tie in with a magazine.

Thanks, that seems to work just fine. :-)
I'm using PSP X2, but a co-worker recently purchased a Nikon D90 and I was going to give him my old copy of PSP X. Unfortunately I forgot I had given the software to my sister-in-law. Saw this thread and thought - voila! Wanted to grab it now because my co-worker is out of town and won't be able to get this himself. |

I wonder if that could be installed on a flash drive, like I did with version 7? I tried it with v11, but it did not work due to integration with the Windows registry.
Added: Nope. It ran off the flashdrive right after I copied the files over, but after uninstalling the copy on the system drive, it then refused to work. Might be possible to figure out what it wants, but it's really not worth the hassle.

I'm no expert with Corel products, but this is version 10.10 (Paint Shop Pro from 2005). That product line has been rebranded at least twice since -- "Paint Shop Pro Photo XI" in 2006, the latest version (2009) is called "Paint Shop Pro Photo X2".
Can anyone more familiar with the line point out any details on what's different between the versions? I didn't have a lot of luck finding comparisons online, although I didn't look very hard. ;)

For me, this d/l was a waste of time. First, it will not open the new CR2 files- not recognized. Second, when you try to find updates, it says, "The Update Service does not recognize this product. Please contact your softwarfe vendor for updates to this product. Error 13001: Product not registered with the Update Service."
This was after I registered the product.

XI had bug fixes and added HDR function, X2 is Vista Certified. Included bug fixes/performance enhancements and included a bunch of extras on DVD like Corel Painter Photo which does an great job at Photo Painting, a plug-in Background eraser, MediaOne, lots of Tubes (like vector images), picture frames and scripts. Boxed Version has a really good softcover book.
It sort of sucks that it don't read 5dMKii RAW (for quick edits) but who works their raw photos in an editor anyways? After doing an event last weekend and going through the (tons of photos) Shots I'm finally dumping that POS LR2 and going back to DPP that came with the camera. Sorry, I had to share.

What does this mean?
Is there some way to work with RAW files without using an editing program?

I am planning on buying a netbook in the near future. It ought do be ideal, as the system requirements are lighter than v12, and probably lighter that v11 as well. I also have v7, but there were major features added after that, which I would miss. Also image resizing has been vastly improved since v7.
If you look at the large size image, the difference is readily apparent. |
