And one for over-40's and one for under-40's? And one for Americans and one for everyone else? In other words, what's the point of making that distinction, here in DPC?

I just thought it would be interesting to see what people came up with when they had to specifically had to shoot for Women and Men.

there was some blah talk about the flower challenge and how it was just women that liked flowers, so I thought this was an interesting idea to follow through with.

We'll probably end up tripping people's brains out when the men's challenge is full of women... ;)

that would also be a challenge without 10 threads with people interpreting what the challenge means

I agree, that should be the whole premise of the challenge. Make it a fast one too!

For what it's worth, I think it's a good idea and it could be cool to see if there is an obvious difference between the way we photograph vs. the way women photograph.

Juliet - Perhaps you should suggest a Challenge Description to go with this?

When I read the title of this thread I figured it would be two challenges:
Photos that depict "something for the boys" (cars, tools, women, etc...), and
Photos that depict "something for the girls" (jewelry, clothes, men, etc...)

Yes, that's probably a stereotypical description, but hopefully it gets my point across.

The two challenges wouldn't necessarily be entered exclusively by men or women, instead everyone would shoot for the subject "for the boys", or "for the girls", depending on personal ideas.

That's what I assume -- that we were photographing something that women would like or something men would like. I also assumed there would be a huge number of nudes in the "for the men" because people would assume that it's what men would like...

It would be interesting to just split it and have one challenge for only women to enter and one challenge just for the men.

Well, the thought behind the description is left open, or rather that is what i thought, then that way it could be interpreting as to how people think.

People want their kids to be happy, men might want their boys to be an All Star, women may want to perfect the perfect cake, or rule the world etc etc.

That is why For The Boys, versus What Men Want, or What Women Want

There are no rules as to who can shoot for which challenge

Makes me think of this video.
Some might not consider it safe for work. I have no problem with it. Somehow the "back nuts" make me think of you Slippy. LOL
