I noticed a few days ago that my camera seems to have changed the naming convention of the files. Previously I would get something like IMG_1234.CR2, now the "I" has been replaced with an undesrcore, so I get _MG_1234.CR2.
Wondering if maybe I changed some setting by accident. Anybody else seen this behavior?

You changed from sRGB to AdobeRGB color space.
sRGB files are named IMG_xxxx.CR2
AdobeRGB files are named _MG_xxxx.CR2 |

| That was it. I did change the color space a few days ago, after seeing some discussion of it in the forums. Haven't noticed any difference in the images as far as I can tell so far. Thank you. |

I *think* this only effects the colours when you are printing, but I could be wrong! |

| Don't you shoot in RAW, spiffy? If so, the color space setting that you shoot in is irrelevant. The color space you choose for the output image in your RAW converter is what you want to worry about. |

| Yes, I shoot RAW. That would explain why I see no difference from changing the color space. I have been paying attention to the discussions of Adobe RGB vs sRGB and when I noticed I was set to sRGB as a default, I changed it. |
