Civil war and citizen unrest...why is this thread continuing?

Anyone ever read Ken Follett's book The Pillars of the Earth? Great read.

Without civil unrest, DPC would just be D. ...for Dull. Hostility and controversy fuel the fires of creativity and imagination.
is Ken Follett related to Ken Rockwell?

I was wondering about that myself. As far as I know, you ARE on the SC... What gives?

It was a joke. Sheesh!

So was my response. Sheesh :-)

Great... so now we have to clarify the joke rule, too.

For a website consisting of "for fun" challenges with a virtual ribbon as a grand prize I think the focus on rules is a bit much honestly. Tear me apart if you want but I think everyone needs to relax. So someone spot edits their entry, who cares honestly if it is just for fun? Let the voters work it out, heaven knows they are already in charge of who is on top. If something is overly processed, it will affect the vote. Have a rule that the photog must specify in title if they used existing artwork.

DPC honestly confuses me more than anything. On one hand, it is a bunch of people having fun and not taking anything seriously, on the other hand it is a bunch of people arguing over removing dots, coloring apples, and adding borders.

I understand langdon and the SC don't want DPC to turn into just another digital-art website but isn't having fun more important than petty rules? I doubt DPC will sink into a digital-art website. If it is really a concern, have photogs upload their original (resized) along with their entry, and let all the voters see both. It will be clear what has been changed and to what degree. After that let the voters decide what they want to see more and less of.
