I just got a Nikon ML-L3 wireless... Fresh out of the package.. Pulled out the little plastic strip between the battery and the remote and tried to use it.. I get nothing.. I'm set in manual mode.. At first I was next to an open window so I thought maybe I have too much light facing the camera to allow for the infared to work, so I closed all the blinds, still nothing.. What am I doing wrong... I can't find my book on the camera either and the little instructions I found online didn't say I needed to set my camera to anything special.. Thanks

This is going to sound like a stupid question (and I don't mean it to be), but did you set the camera to remote mode? |

Reread your post and realized that you may not know where that settings is. On the top right, there's a button that looks like three sheets of paper stacked on top of each other. Pressing this repeatedly will switch you from Single Shot, then to Continuous, then (I think) to Timer, then to Remote, then to Timed Remote, and then back again. |

LOL.. So not a stupid question.. This is what I've been trying to figure out.. I did play with that button and I tried it on several different settings, but I think at that time I had too much light peering in.. I'm positive that has to have been the problem.. Let me go check though..lol. Thank you |

okee dokee.. that was it... thanks so much... it's really sensitive too.. seems to not want to work if I'm in a room with too much light.. Not sure if this is going to be a helpfull tool for me or not.. I appreciate your help.. |

Glad to help. Also, at least on my old D70, the setting would only "stick" for a finite period of time. The time was adjustable in the menus somewhere though. So, if it's been a while since you last fired the remote and then it won't fire again, make sure the setting hasn't reverted back. |
