| Does anyone know any good canoe backpacking places in the US? You know...canoe out to where you camp. |

The Green River, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah.
When I was a boy scout we did 110 miles in a canoe over 10 days in wyoming. It was awsome. Never forget it.

Every Year for the last 16 years I've been going to the Adirondacks, tons of stuff up there, only an 7-9 hour drive for you.
Specifically, the Fish Creek Ponds are spectacular, no motor boats allowed, PM if you want details. |

There is a great trip on the colorado river that ends at lake havasu in AZ. i forget the name but Black Canyon rings a bell.
I did a 4 day canoe trip on the colorado ending near Yuma AZ. Nice, but not fantastic.
I heard there are some great river/lake multi day canoe trips in Northern Minn that I intend to check out some day. |

One of the 8 rivers included in the 'Wild and Scenic Rivers Act' of 1968, The Rogue River in southern Oregon is one of the great boating and hiking rivers in the United States. It is photogenic and traverses wilderness and national forest lands.
It it is best known for white water rafting and kayaking but would make an excellent choice for what you want to do.
I took a kayak run through a small part of it one time that might give you an idea what it is like:
