I got a comment during voting to say I should have levelled the horizon.

I did, using the angle tool in Lightroom - Maybe I have just not levelled it enough though.

I just think it's the way the wooden groynes come in at an angle you can't quite see the whole horizon.

Views?

Just used the ruler in PS, both left and right are 229/230px from the bottom of the border to the horizon.

yea, the wooden groynes (?) makes it appear not properly horizontal.
times like this, i'd sacrifice the truth for illusion's sake.

edited for comparison. it's not horizontal, but i think it looks horizontal.

EDIT: i assumed your original was horizontal, btw

So what would you do to make it look "level", go by the wood's angle?

No. It's not level. I just took the image into PS and used the measure tool on the horizon and did an arbitrary rotation. It indicated a rotation of .73 degrees was needed.

Holding down the shift key while drawing with the ruler... the horizon is just a wee bit slightly off.

Illustrated and zoomed in

It is just a little off, but the angles and other visual elements also help to give the impression that it is more tilted than it really is.

From left to right: The horizon is 8 pixels higher on the left than on the right. Center of image (360 pixels from left) the horizon is 4 pixels higher than the right.

Easiest way to check is to scroll the image down the screen until the horizon lines up with the edge of the screen. When I did it there saw about 1/4 of an inch of sky showing on the right after it was gone on the left.

To some folks a tilted horizon ruins their enjoyment of a shot, to me not so much. Hotpasta's comment on shifting the vantage point to make the pier pop is closer to my reaction. The fact that the pier covers half the horizon line has the two major elements of the shot jostling for space.

LOL, well you did ask if it was tilted.

and it kinda does, but I think also, it has to do with your wooden breakers, optical illusion!!!

nice shot though!
