Congrats! The Topaz works well with the grain. I'd have scored it high also. |

Thanks!
I guess the bottom line on any of the PP tools is that they all have their strong & weak points, and any or all of them can be used to extreme.
This one just worked out really well for this challenge. |

Topaz and Grain go together like Ham 'n Eggs; it's a marriage made in heaven. Folks thought I "overgrained" this one, but facripesake it was a "grain" challenge, I thought I'd be OK taking it to extremes...

Only 1 in 5 said that it was too much grain - the other 4 seemed to like it. :-) Personally, I thought the grain was ok but something about the processing made this almost seem more like a sketch or painting rather than a photo. JMO FWIW. :-P |

I got a lot of feedback not-in-comments, though. And that was mostly lukewarm-to-negative on the subject of "excessive grain".

I'm pretty surprised that image scored above 5. Maybe it was voted that high due to the challenge description, but I agree it looks more like a sketch then a photo, and the grain seems a bit over the top. I would have figured the voters would have really hammered it for the combo.
