For those of you who have the Lensbaby Muse or the Lensbaby 2.0, I'm considering buying the muse but I'm worried that I will miss the shot because I won't be able to hold the focus. Have you guys experienced any problems due to this and possibly missed the shot?
If this is a huge problem I might get the composer but I really would like the ability to see the shot, snap it, and continue.

If you want "the ability to see the shot, snap it, and continue", then the Composer is your lens for sure; you can preset and prefocus this lens and snap at will. You can do the same thing with the 3G/Control Freak, but it's more complicated to set up. The Muse/standard lensbaby is more about the "happy accident".

| I wouldn't say the 2.0 or muse is entirely about the "happy accident". I don't consider any of my LB shots accidental at all. I compose, I shoot. The Composer would be handy for low light situations where longer exposures would be needed though. I guess it all depends on the person really. But I have never felt I missed a shot...never. I like the freedom of my LB 2.0...no fiddling around with adjusting this and that or finicky fine tuning...that's when you miss a shot. Is there somewhere you can test an LB out to see for yourself? That would be the best thing to do because only you know your shooting style. |

Exactly!
I'm shooting with the LB 2.0 and sometimes getting the focus is half of the fun. Also, I'm not sure if you can 'bend' the composer as much as 2.0, which produces great effects. |

That's right! I almost forgot about that...the Composer can't bend like 2.0 or the Muse can. I've gotten some really interesting distortions wrenching the oh so flexible 2.0 around....semi tilt/shift looking effects. |

Well, it looks like the muse is the one for me. I like how you can focus really fast and tilt it in the same motion. I'm glad to hear that you guys have never missed a shot for some reason that really surprises me but I'm taking your word on it and we'll see if I can be as good with it as you guys. I wish I could try them both out but none of the lens rental places I looked at have the muse in stock and definitely not any local camera stores. I also live in a smaller town and the few photographers there are don't have a LB.
Thanks for all the input.
