Ok, I will retract that statement and say that the media has been publicizing his death to the point that can make a person ill. They should let the guy rest in peace and stop talking about him like he is the greatest thing in the world. They should focus on the more inportant things in the world other than the dead. Fore the living are the ones who have to continue in this world, and will have to do it blindly beacause media is to busy covering the dead guys story....

Now, THAT is a statement I can totally agree with :-)

That's a ridiculous statement, he hasn't "hogged" anything, he's DEAD. The media have swooped on his death like vultures, as would be expected. The citizenry have demonstarted a continuing obsession with him, as expected. But it ain't his fault, nor his family's...

I'm sure his family are loving all the press (they're a pretty warped, two fisted crew) and would gladly keep anything going that helps sales. Al Sharpton a close family adviser is kicking up dust about slanted coverage when a good deal/most of it has been very positive...perhaps too positive for some peoples liking ( House Rep. Peter King). In other words, they're not doing much themselves in the way of keeping things low key and dignified as in the case with most celebrity deaths.

Oh, no doubt... but my only point is/was, they didn't CAUSE this ridiculous coverage; that's our celebrity-besotted age hard at work to enlighten us. It's ridiculous, it's maddening, but it's a much larger issue than any individual or family. But you know that, I don't have to be telling you this.

You can say that, again. Sadly, outside of the persons magnitude in this case it's the same old crap with the media in it's present state.

Never being one to hold back opinion however, I think a large percentage of his his whole cult was created by this exact type of state. He fed it...fed off of it and now it's feeding off of him. He became a victim of his own monster. So, in short this ALL makes perfect sense...I think...?

Well, it doesn't look like I can get off of work to attend tomorrow. I didn't really want to go and my daughter decided that this would be a once-in-a-lifetime event, so I gave her my voucher and she and a friend of hers went to Dodger Stadium this morning and picked up two tickets/wristbands.

She's stoked and will try to bring her camera in. I haven't read anything about photography policy for this event, or for the Staples Center in general (although I've brought in camera gear there before).
