And it turned out pretty good! We got a hunk of Synlawn installed in our back yard this week. I thought it would be entertaining to shoot the whole thing and make a time lapse video out of it. I used the 10-22 at 10mm mounted on the Rebel XTi tethered to a laptop and shooting out the upstairs window. Used the EOS Utility intervalometer function to take a shot every 30 seconds for a total of about 800 shots over about 6.5 hours.
I had to shoot in jpg to fit enough images on a 4 GB card, and I burned through the battery completely. Luckily they finished the install before the battery died. I had the white balance set to daylight. Naturally the clouds rolled on in a couple of times so it goes a little gray every now and then. I was too lazy to find those frames and tweak 'em. Batch processed those bad boys in Lightroom, put the video together right quick in Quicktime Pro (15 frames per second), and there ya go.
Take a look see if you're interested!

That's pretty neat. So it's fake grass? |

I think Synlawn is a good clue that it is fake grass:))
So, why the pause halfway through, was that tea or dinner break?? I would have a word with them, you're paying for downtime.
Also, why didn't they stripe it??

The cost of installation was included in the per square foot price, so I'm not sure if there's anything I can do about that. The installers seemed to be subcontractors as well. I do plan on mentioning it to the Synlawn retailer, though. That was indeed the lunch break. About 2 hours!
Stripe it? I'm not sure what you mean.

stripes are like a football feild, where with real grass is created by a mower rolling the grass down heading one way, then coming back against the last one rolling it to give it a line pattern, if you cross that you get the checker pattern |

Ah, I know what you mean. I'm not a sports guy, so I didn't even think of that. |
