For those of you who upgraded to a D700, do you find that you can still use your d70 or d80 with your old DX lenses as a secondary cam for weddings/events/etc.? I'd like to think that my D70 is still a good machine. I've been using it for some great (IMO) headshots for the past few years, and it seems to work pretty well since ISO is always at 200. Obviously I will use my D700 for that, but for weddings I'd love to just have two cams with two different lenses for different types of shots.

I guess this is mainly because I only have one lens that's not DX and and it's a prime. The DX lens I have is zoom, so i could be useful.

Any thoughts?

I don't do weddings, but from what I have read, and what makes sense for a day like that is that you better have a second camera body available, if only for backup.

I got a d90 and my d80 is largely unused, but I keep it handy, and when I go into the studio for a shoot, I stick a lens on it so I don't have to switch lenses if things are really humming--just grab the d80 and shoot. Otherwise, my lensbaby is on it all the time.

So I would definitely keep it until the d700 becomes your backup camera :-)
