Down there with you at 4.85.
All I can say is broad appeal is a funny thing. I did anticipate people would not care for my subject or treatment. Meanwhile, my totally cliche shot in another challenge is slightly over a 6. Give them what they expect and you will be rewarded with high scores.
My only gripe is the usual: Not enough people leave comments on their midrange and low votes. These are the ones that need the feedback. Please, folks. |

tho at least i have one comment- (they didnt seem to have any issues with my image tho --appearing to rather like it... so i'm baffled by the drop; if people would be kind enough to comment in depth when they're 4's and under it would be more helpuful than just a low score -- I am here to learn too --so pointing out what you may think is technically wrong with the image helps me to see it too (IE: too dark too light too sharp not sharp enough too plasticy looking (to coin the phrase used in a preivous challenge) - or hell "i just dont like the title" but since i still have not mastered mind-reading of ppls thoughts.. and i'm no master of photography here; some insight and suggestions to -fix- what is wrong in the persons opinion are highly valued-- *gripes the same old same old-- then gets back onto the score flopage below*

I should have known better than to enter an image that even I think is so-so. If I think my entry is one of my best, the voters think it's good; if I think it merely has "kind of got something about it I like", I'm doomed!

but i'm still firm on that gripe -- I want more comments - at least from those who are voting 3 and under its not like you have to say "hey i socred you this" just -comment- on the technical aspects of what you see/ like/ dislike what could improve the image etc... I would never leave a low vote without an extremely in depth description of why or what I think could improve it = a low score doesnt teach anything all it does is make the artist feel bad; and it -is- possible to leave a nice comment on a photo you think deserves a 3 or 2 heck its not complicated 'great idea... or interesting perspective here is what i would have done diffrently...*details here...*'
