Hello all.

I have a question for those of you that do wedding photography as a business. Do you ever raise your prices? If so, how often and by how much? For example, do you raise your prices by 3% once per year... or something along those lines?

Thanks

Dan

My 2nd year in and I am raising my prices, more due to demand in the summer than any other reason. I turned down or passed on at least ten weddings this summer as I was already busy, that leaves me with two choices, employ a second photographer to shoot the extra weddings, or up my prices so at least I can make a bit more in the more fruitful times. Maybe next year I will go down the route of getting a second photographer - still trying to streamline the business and cut costs.

Some may advise against raising prices during a recession, but if people are still willing to book me then who am I to argue.

People just keep offering me 1000% more every year. I can't help it. I'm just so totally awesome.
