I ended up purchasing a Canon i860 printer!! I'm pretty excited about it, but no matter what settings I seem to use I can get my pictures to print correctly. What I want is to be able to print one of my photo's onto 4x6 Canon Photo Paper Pro. The photo has a border on it, and is sized a perfect 4x6 (including the border). No matter what I seem to selcect some of the border gets cut off! I've been printing from Adobe Photoshop. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I need to do to print correctly?

Hi Lee

I just got the same printer a couple weeks ago...

Try going into the Print With Preview (ALT P), select page setup, printer, properties

Choose photo paper pro for your paper type, high quality

Under the page set up tab choose your paper size, orientation, and then in the middle section click on the box for borderless prints

I really like this printer, hopefully you will too...it is fast and so quiet it is really different than any one I have had before

Take care

Hey, I have the canon i960 and the process for boearderless prints is very similar. What i do is to open up the picture in photoshop elements then i use the croptool set to 4x6 only when i drag it across my image i dont stop at the edg. i go beyond the edg by say 5%. this in turn increases the dimensions of my photo wich when i go to make a 4x6boarderless print with my canon it comes out perfect by croping the extra space i had added to the image and leaving only the image to be printed. I hope this made sense. I know how to do it but how to explain it is another story. Good luck Kevin,

I have a Canon i950 which does the borderless prints the same way as your i860. In the printer driver you can indicate how much you want the picture to extend off the page. Since your image is exactly 4x6 you could try one of two things, select minimum extension in the page setup tab of the printer properties (you'll loose a small amount of your border) or make the border slightly bigger than you would like on the final print, having the extension off the edge take care of the extra bit of border you don't want.

I've been having problems again. Is there no way to simply print an exact 4x6 on 4x6 paper?

I have an 865i and I think it's basically the same. I managed to print borderless prints after realising that you need to select the printer in the page setup dialog. I'm on a Mac but PC's shoudl have somethign similar. by default, the page setup dialog is set for 'Any Printer'. Set it for the Canon and then select 4x 6 and from the sub-menu select borderless. You can then print and select the amounjt of border etc. from the print routine.
