Hasn't anyone suggested this, or am I just clueless?

They're everywhere and they're almost invisible sometimes, but when you make it a point to look, often they're quite interesting in what they're up to.....

Why not? Sounds like a lot of fun to be lying on a downtown street taking photos of birds and getting weird looks from people.

How about making it a sibling open challenge with "Telephone poles"?

Because they are all over the place here, It would be easy enough to find subjects, However I think they make better video than still photographs, Especially watching them walk with the head bob and aimless direction.
