Hang in there! Even when I'm in the right, it's like my brain turns to molasses when in a confrontation. Later I'll think "Why didn't I just point out the obvious fact that ___ ___ ___ ?" (fill in the blanks).
I don't know about the legal/contract thing, however, can you still salvage the situation by selling prints of your more successful days at work?

lol we have matching molasses brains it seems:) and yes hopefully ill sell prints, but one of the other photographgers is giving away DVDs of all her photos. i cant really compete with that:( |

I think you really need to talk to whoever is the other signee on the contract, explaining what happened, including the other photographer, who shouldn't have even been there, cutting into your profits with her CDs. Don't rant, just voice your concerns over the contract breakage. He might not be aware what has happened but even if he is he simply might not have thought of the ramifications for you of allowing others to shoot. You're in business now, so discuss business in a professional manner and who knows what good might come out of it?
(I know I'd never be able to take the advice I've given you because I'm jello when it comes to confrontation, but that's why I don't get into this kind of work :D )

Having seen your display, don't worry about this incident. You got some great life experience on what you don't to happern, your display is fabulous, and it's easy to tell those shots are very good.
Live and learn, and it WILL get better!

well its crazy awesome hearing that from you:) ill have to upload a few of the shots on the display, as well as a few others.
and BeeCee, the board member who vouched for me is the other signee, so she knew what happened. it was kinda sad though, right before he came to yell at me, she almost ran out of the building in tears. so im guessing she got in trouble just like i did. |

| oh, and another good thing that came out of this other then some cool photos is that one of the moms of the girls in the events asked me to do her headshots:) i guess im good lol |

Kidding aside, your display looks very nice, and even at small size, I can see that your lighting is good for the portraits. If you can just let this ride a while without kicking it around too hard, I feel sure that much good work will be coming your way soon as a result. Don't let one sourpuss crumble your biscuit, and you will be ok. It's all just part of dealing with the public, so this event is a good practice drill for handling the things like this that will come along later in your life.

And here I am again, at the freaking rodeo pageant. All the board members are being amazing suck ups. Oh, and the douche who yelled at me last night just gave me crap for not giving him a free cd of all my photos.

| o i had to shoot again tonight and me and the head of the board og into it again, but tonight i "won" the argument. he was going on about how i couldnt use my strobes for whatever reason, and i asked him why he paid for me to be there if i wasnt allowed to take my photos. so he walked off all flustered and it was quite pleasing:) |

I'm thinking you have gotten one heck of an initiation as to how little the general public knows about what's involved in a photo shoot, and how to accomodate same.....
