| I have a Canon 430EX flash and trigger it remotely with a Cactus V2s. The flash will randomly fire when connected to the Cactus trigger. It may go for a long time and not fire and then it starts for no known reason. It does not do it when the Cactus trigger is not attached. I have two of the remote triggers and, though I haven't paid total attention, I think it occurs with both of them. I just bought a Vivitar 285HV and have not had the same problem with it yet. Anyone have any experiences like this and know of a solution? |

I had the exact same problem with my 430EX flash.
I upgraded to V4 and the problem was gone.
But that means you buyboth transmitter/receiver,...
they are not compatible |

Actually you do. There is very little shielding from RF interference in the Cactus remotes. I use mine with Nikon
flashes and only get false flashes when several of the units
are within 2 feet of each other. The Canon flashes put out
much higher levels of RF hash and the cheap Cactus remotes
simply can't handle this. If you move the remote unit as far
away from the flash unit as the cable will allow, (if using
the studio versions) the problem may get better. |
