i think the project would be best served if the organizers contacted photographers directly and asked them to reevaluate their commitment to the project.

there's no need to call people onto the carpet publicly. let's please keep it civil.

My live has taken an interesting turn in the last couple of months so that is why I didnt submit one (notice my lack of DPC submissions). But it will be the first thing on my list now. I will find one of my photos that can be added to your book. I apologize for not doing it sooner. It is unlike me to do such a thing.

Well, I was sent to Brisbane for a month and half to work on the sister pipeline company that we have down there.

Sounds very cool, Jaime :)

I'm not asking anyone to justify themselves to me. As I said, I didn't even read who hadn't submitted. All I'm asking is that you think about it. If you can justify it to yourself, all's good. If not, maybe you can think twice before putting your name to something important the next time around.

Rob, I'm sorry if you feel I'm not being civil. I'm trying to be. And I believe a member did contact photographers directly, as well as all the reminders and extensions on the threads. Sometimes, unfortunately, a kick in the butt is the only thing that works. But at least I did it with my fuzzy slippers, not my hiking boots!

And to those who PMed me, thank you. They were much appreciated.

***I AM ONLY SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF MYSELF AND NO ONE ELSE!! ***

Im not going to say much more on this thread after this post, but for what ever reason I didnt see much at all wrong about BeeCee's org post, it might not have been deemed politically correct but what ever its just words on the screen... IMO she was just trying to hopefully get some people motivated in coming through with their commitments weather it be with a photo or a PM to the organizers saying sorry but cant do it for what ever reason. Ive personally sent 2 images in now and followed up with a few emails to make sure everything was ok and after a short email conversation I had with Natalya I completely understand why its taking longer than normal for her/them to reply as they are involved in a lot more besides this book.

PLEASE:
If you feel you may have something that conveys hope or even closely too it, please have a look at your own portfolios and then send one or two high rez images in along with the requested info to go along with the photo and let the book's organizers pick from those rather than them having to spend countless hours going through everyone's portfolios. YOU know what YOU have in your portfolio and will have a better idea of what may convey hope and will help them greatly in saving them HOURS of searching then having to submit requests for photos to everyone. This would only take you a few min to a couple hours at most...

Have a wonderful day/evening
